We went on holiday for boob job then hit the beach to flaunt them
Women who jet to Malaysia for plastic surgery
A growing number of British women taking holidays to the paradise isle of Penang
come back with more than just a tan; they improve their bodies by having breast
ops.
Lured by the promise of of cheap operations in Malaysia, 70,000 people are thought
to have visited the country for surgery last year alone. Here we meet four girls
who are the stars of a new Sky One documentary about holiday operations…
Joanne
Beauty analyst JOANNE DAY, 35,
from Hereford, had a breast enlargement. Mother-of-two Joanne was desperate
to reinvent herself after losing two and half stone and splitting from
her husband of six years. Although she was happy with her new figure, she
felt her dramatic weight loss had left her with a chest she wanted to keep
under wraps.
So she decided to spend nearly £3,700 on a boob job which took her
from a 34C to a 34DD. Joanne says: “I had gone from a size 16 to
a size 10 in 18 months and loved my new figure – but not my chest.
My boobs look fantastic in underwear but I hated them when I was naked.”
Joanne had been considering a boob job for a year when she heard about
having surgery abroad: “It was something I really wanted to do but
I was anxious about the cost. I was also concerned about taking time out
from my two children – my daughter Dominique is 12 and son Jordan
is 5 – so it would have been difficult to fit in around them and
the school holidays. It seemed like the perfect solution – I could
take a two-week break, have the surgery, recover in luxury for the same
amount as the op would have cost in the UK.”
After two and a half hours of surgery and an overnight stay in the hospital
she went back to her hotel. But after just one night of rest Joanne was
out on the town: “I went out drinking the night after I got back.
My chest was a bit swollen and sore but I was delighted the results. It
was amazing to have this fantastic chest. I kept looking down and thinking ‘Wow
they’re mine!’” She says her new shape has also given
her a boost with a fitness hobby – pole dancing. “I do classes
once a week and it has really helped me keep the weight off. Since |

having my operation I have had to give it up while my surgery heals. But in a
few weeks I can start again. I can’t wait. I’ve had a pole put in
at my house so I can practice if there is nothing on TV.”
Although Joanne says she hasn’t found herself a new man yet, she’s
boosted her confidence. She says: “I love treating myself to sexy undies
and my friends say I seem a lot more bubbly and confident. I love the fact I
can now wear skimpy tops without a bra if I want – and I’m proud
of my boobs where before I wanted to hide them away.”
Natasha
Office administrator NATASHA TURKINGTON, 27, from Newark, Notts, had her breasts
enlarged. Natasha says she had been unhappy with the size of her 34B breasts
since she was 16. So she was more than happy to spend £3,700 on silicone
implants to increase her boobs to a 34DD, and have a holiday at the same time.
She says: “I hated the shape of my breasts. They were too small. My mum
had a boob job five years ago and was really pleased so I thought why not. The
idea of going abroad, relaxing in the sun and coming back a different person
with no awkward questions asked really appealed. It seemed the perfect solution.”
A day after arriving at the luxury Paradise Sandy Beach Resort in Penang, Natasha
had a consultation with a surgeon.
She says: “When they said I could have my surgery done at a local hospital
the next day, I jumped at the chance! It meant I would have more time recovering
in the sun.”
It took just 45 minutes for the surgery to be completed. After an overnight stay
she was back at her hotel and within 48 hours was ready to enjoy the sun and
sea.
She took her first look at her new chest and was thrilled. “One had been
slightly smaller than the other and now they looked fantastic. I couldn’t
wait to go on the beach and show them off.”
Sandra

Actress SANDRA SPENCER, 32, from
London, wanted a breast reduction. Sandra felt her huge bosom was stopping
her from getting better roles.
She says: “When people saw my casting photo they saw from my head
to my chest and made a decision on that. Even if I lost four stone they
wouldn’t have shrunk.”
Sandra went from a 36FF to a 36DD. Her reduction involved having her nipple
repositioned two inches higher and having 2lbs of flesh removed from each
breast. Sandra had breast surgery 12 years ago, but a hormone condition
years later meant her breasts returned to their original size.
She had to contact her surgery in London before she could go ahead with
her latest breast reduction. Sandra’s operation lasted five hours.
Despite having some problems with pain after the operation she was thrilled
with the result. She says: “I feel a lot more confident now. I’m
sure it will have a positive effect on my career.” |
Kerry
KERRY FORWARD, 26, from Wolverhampton,
had a breast enlargement. Kerry wanted a bigger bust to make her feel more
feminine.
“ I feel I had a fewer curves than an ironing board and felt pre-pubescent,” she
says. “I didn’t feel like a woman, I feel like a girl and wanted
to grow up physically.”
Kerry went from a 32AA to a 32B and had the most painful method of surgery.
Her silicone implants were put in through the armpit and under the chest
muscle because she is very petite.
Kerry’s operation took an hour and 45 minutes and she was in pain
afterwards. She says: “I couldn’t eat, I was sick and I fainted.
The other girls went out on the town but I needed a bit longer to recover.”
When Kerry first saw her new breasts she was surprised by how swollen they
were: “They looked a bit like Barbie’s but I knew it wouldn’t
be long before they went down. Now they look really natural.” |
