Holiday-cum-breast enlargement in Penang

EDITED BY LESLIE ANDRES

PENANG, Wed. — A strong desire to have bigger breasts has brought Corina van Leeuwen, from the Netherlands, to Penang.

The 24-year-old communications and marketing consultant from Rotterdam, arrived a few days ago for a breast augmentation surgery at a private hospital here.

Her two-week holiday and the surgery arrangements were made by the Penang-based Medi Travels Sdn Bhd.

The company, set up by Dutch entrepreneur Marloes Giezenaar, offers 'Beautiful Holidays' — cosmetic surgery combined with a luxurious holiday in Penang.

Admitting she was a little nervous about the surgery, van Leeuwen said it was because she considered the breast augmentation surgery as a big step in her life.

Describing her breasts as being disproportionate to her body, especially her broad shoulders, she said: "I will feel more confident of myself with larger breasts.

"Besides, the cost of this holiday and surgery in Penang would be sufficient to pay for only the surgery back home in the Netherlands," she said in an interview at the Eastern and Oriental Hotel (E&O) here, where she is staying.

With her were Giezenaar and E&OHotel communications manager Ann Sheilla John.

van Leeuwen said her family members and friends knew she was in Penang for a holiday but not for the cosmetic surgery.

A first-time visitor here, van Leeuwen is captivated by Penang's food, shopping malls, sea, temples, and the accommodation at the E&O Hotel. She is looking forward to more sightseeing after her surgery.
