Boob job in Penang boosts confidence of Dutch lass
EDITED BY MANJIT KAUR PENANG: Size does matter.
Corina van Leeuwen not only feels good but exudes extra self-confidence
as well.
Her dream of good body posture was realised after she underwent
silicone implant breast augmentation surgery at a private hospital
here a week ago.
The 24-year-old lass from the Netherlands arrived here on Jan
15 with 36A cup-size breasts, but she now flaunts a curvaceous
36C figure.
"The surgery
was important for me to have balanced posture as my breasts
were disproportionate," she said in an interview
yesterday.
Van Leeuwen was the eighth woman to undergo the surgery
under a cosmetic surgery-cum-holiday package deal promoted
by Beautiful Holidays, a division of Medi Travels Sdn
Bhd.
The deal attracted international media attention after
an article in the New York Post highlighted a "boob
job" on fledgling 19-year-old British model Jennifer
Forrest.
Penang State Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Kee Phaik
Cheen said the surgery was part of the state's promotion
of medical tourism.
Van Leeuwen, a communications and marketing consultant
from Rotterdam, said she had wanted to have her breasts
enlarged since she was 17. "I saved 750
euro (RM3,120) a year for the past six years to undergo
the surgery," she said.
She came to know about the package after reading about
it in a local daily.
Van Leeuwen said the choice of hotel and food offered
in the package caught her eye.
She said she had not revealed the purpose of her visit
to family and friends as she did not want anymore to stop
her. "But I am sure when I get back they
will be happy to see the results," she said, adding
that the hospital staff had made her feel at home during
her stay.
The staff always had time for her and made her feel comfortable
and relaxed, she said, adding that she would do some shopping
and visit famous tourist spots before returning home.

Beautiful Holidays managing director Marloes Giezenaar, who
was present during the interview, said about 1,000 women from
all over the world had expressed interest in the holiday deal.
She said the deal also provided for cosmetic surgery like liposuction
and tummy tuck. "To date, 30 women have undergone
various types of cosmetic surgery on the island," she said.
All her clients were satisfied with the healthcare service and
no negative feedback had been received, Giezenaar said.
"The affordable plastic and cosmetic surgery performed
by leading surgeons with state-of-the-art facilities attracts
many people to Penang," she said. |
