Experience from a previous client Beautiful Holidays asked four of our previous clients to keep a diary during their stay in Penang. They have also written some information from before coming out and after their return home. Their identity is kept confidential, but if you wish to talk to them, or other previous clients, please ask your Beautiful Holidays representative about it.
In May this year I went out to Penang, Malaysia through Beautiful Holidays. I was going for a full tummy tuck under LA with a 2-night hospital stay in a single room. For 2 weeks I was in the E&O Hotel. Before my trip, having not known anyone to have cosmetic surgery this way, there were things I was anxious about and I had many questions to put to the surgeon. Before leaving home I also had many questions to put to beautiful holidays about the surgeon, his qualifications, the hospital etc etc, all of which were addressed and answered quickly - of which I was impressed with. I had done a lot of research on tummy tucks and decided, after deep consideration, to go ahead with having mine done in Malaysia. The surgeon also called me in the UK before my departure to have a brief discussion about what I was hoping to achieve from the surgery but a full consultation of 1 hour took place once I was in Penang. Beautiful Holidays organised everything for me once we had agreed a date for me to go, and Wim was there to greet me upon my flight arriving, ensuring I was settled into my hotel and leaving me with all information that I would possibly need initially for my stay. They left me comprehensive instructions of details of local information, consultation, pick up times to be taken to the hospital etc etc and were with me every step of the way ensuring I was always picked up, taken to the hospital and then returned back to my hotel of which they were always prompt and efficient and always on hand to address any concerns that I had after the surgery. As there was a small liposuction included with the tummy tuck I decided to have a last great meal and not watch calories. In the bag I got there was a booklet with some restaurant tips, it talked about an Indian restaurant a short stroll from the hotel. When you go to Penang, go to it, the best Tandoori chicken I ever had! Back to the surgery part. After meeting the surgeon and discussing with him at length the required procedure, viewing photos of previous clients who had gone through tummy tucks and putting to him the questions I needed answering, I was more than happy to go ahead with the surgery. Before my face to face I had made a list of questions for the surgeon, I advise this, as it helps a lot. I was impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness of all the staff, and during my 2-night stay was also visited by the customer services team to ensure I was happy with everything at the hospital - nothing was too much trouble for the nursing staff looking after me once I had the surgery and were prompt in giving their attention. During my stay in the hospital Wim came to see me and even brought flowers and muffins, it was good to see a familiar face. If you were to take a partner or friend they could also be accommodated in your hospital room. After discharge from the hospital, I went to see the surgeon a further 3 times for check ups, with someone from Beautiful Holidays always taking me to the hospital and ensuring my return to the hotel. When I got back to my hotel room I just had a good rest. The next day I was feeling much better and ordered breakfast in my room, which was lovely. I decided to go for a short walk around the hotel, after that it was time for movies. The next day I decided to go out for a bit so I went to Gurney Plaza, a huge air-conditioned shopping complex. It was amazing; there was so much to buy! While there I found a place that did a Pedi and Mani cure for under 10 pounds, so this was a must, they even gave a foot and hand massage. The rest of my time in Penang as spend relaxing, sightseeing and eating. The eating was not part of the plan, but the food there is so great and it’s so cheap. Beautiful Holidays advised me on what not to do after surgery so I did take it easy, which is hard I a place where there is so much to see and do. I was never in any pain, though there was some discomfort the first few days, which I expected. The first week it was difficult for me to walk up strait, I was slouching a bit and it was most comfortable to sit or lie on my side. The surgeon gave me some exercises that I could do and they helped me a lot. I cannot recommend their service highly enough, and they made my stay in Malaysia an enjoyable one and have kept in touch with me since my return home to ensure my ongoing recovery was going smoothly. The surgery has definitely given me the confidence I was lacking and I am happy to have gone ahead with it. The scar is starting to fade and I hope it will keep doing this. I am pleased to tell you how happy I am with the fantastic results of my surgery and still cannot stop looking at my beautiful new body - all thanks to the Beautiful holidays team and Dr Danny. My family and friends have told me I look better and happier, they are amazed by the results and some of them consider going themselves. If later on in life I feel the need for any more cosmetic surgery I would definitely return to Malaysia!
In August last year I went out to Penang, Malaysia through Beautiful Holidays. I was going for a Breast Augmentation under GA with a 1-night hospital stay in a single room. For 2 weeks I was in the Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel. (Translated from Dutch to English) When you are reading this story you most probably want to go for plastic surgery. I made that decision 4 years ago and did not do anything with it till August 2003 when I decided to look for the options. I am a 25-year-old professional from Holland and have wanted fuller breasts for the past 4 years. My first choice was to look for a clinic in Holland. I went to see 2 clinics and found them rather un-personal and business oriented. I went to broaden my horizon on the Internet and found a clinic in Turkey, which provides the surgery but not the flights, accommodation and the full package. Then I came across Beautiful Holidays. After studying the site I became interested and filled in the online application form. It was important for me that they take care of everything, the holiday, transport in Penang and all consultations. My English is good but I am not familiar with medical terms, they arranged even a translator for me, which was great. After a few days I got a price and this also sounded promising. The offered me to have a free telephone consultation with the Surgeon, which I did. This convinced me to go ahead with it and I booked to go for 18 days and have a breast augmentation. Beautiful Holidays guaranteed to me that at any time when I did not feel comfortable with going ahead with the surgery in Penang I could back out and only pay for the holiday, this set my mind at ease. I did not know what to expect from the Clinic, I saw the pictures but this could all be marketing. One of the reasons why I wanted to go with Beautiful Holidays also is that I did not want to tell any of my friend or family that I was doing this; I wanted it to be my decision. I just told everybody I was going on a holidays to Penang and they would see it when I came back. I arrived in Penang on a Sunday morning and was picked up from the airport and brought to my hotel. There was an information pack in my hotel with all the ins and outs of Penang and my itinerary for during my stay. I spent Sunday and Monday working on my tan and getting to know Penang. Tuesday morning I was picked up to go to the Clinic for my intake consultation with the Surgeon. The Clinic, which is a fully functional hospital with even an ER, put my mind at ease, it looked clean and the people were friendly and all spoke English. During the Intake with the Surgeon we decided to go for 300 CC implants that will give me a full C cup/ small D cup. He told me all the possible risks and explained the procedure to me. After the intake I was taken back to the Hotel to relax before the surgery on Wednesday. On the day of the surgery I was a little nervous. I was admitted to the Clinic at 8 and at 10 in the morning I had the surgery. All went well and by 12.30 I was back in my room with a huge bandage around my chest. I felt terrible; I did not have any pain but was really ill from the Anesthetics. The whole time the nurses, who were very friendly, came to check on me. The next morning I woke up and felt much better, I had a good breakfast and the Beautiful Holidays staff send me flowers. The Surgeon came to see me and removed the drains, did a check up and told me again what I can and can’t do. After that I was released from the hospital and they picked me up to go back to the Hotel. The next 2 days I relaxed in my room and got used to my new breast. The Hotel was great; they changed my towels and bed sheets on a regular basis for hygiene. I had to wear a sports bra 24 hours a day and was not allowed to shower under my arms for the scars to heal properly. After 2 days I had a check up with the Surgeon again. Everything was going great and he advised me again on what I was able to do and what not. I can tell you, if you are planning to go on a diet while you are in Penang forget it, the food is amazing here. Everyday I could do more, I went to see two temples, did loads of shopping and after 8 days I was allowed to go in the pool for quick dips, as long as I washed off and dried of my scars afterwards. I went for a massage that was a true delight and the prices are even more attractive, only half of what I would pay in Holland. At the end of my stay I had a final check up with the Surgeon. He said all was looking good and gave me some cream for the scars under my arms, which helps reduce the scars. Beautiful holidays assured me that when I came back and would have more questions for the surgeon I can always email them and they will get all the answers for me. My whole experience has been great. I think the best thing was that while I was recovering from the surgery I was really only doing the recovering and relaxing. If I would have had the surgery in Holland I would have still had to clean my house, cook my food and speak to friends and family. The staff of Beautiful Holidays is great; they invited me for a dinner and called me from time to time to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. When I flew home I felt a little nervous about the reaction of my family but they all loved the result. I did not want to come back and look like Pamela Anderson, I wanted to have breasts that fitted my posture and that I felt comfortable with. I can say for anybody that is considering plastic surgery, have a look at this option. The service is great and the Surgeon really takes his time for you during all consultations. April this year I went to Penang with Beautiful Holidays to have a male breast reduction and Lasik. I stayed in the Lone Pine for 9 nights and 1 night I stayed in the Hospital. My surgery as under LA on the second day and Lasik was in my second week. Being a guy there is still a taboo on cosmetic surgery. First all people think you are gay and second everybody says you don’t need it, just because you are a man. I didn’t want to have the surgery in my own country, it was too uncomfortable. I am a single straight guy and the reaction I got from my surroundings, after telling them I wanted to go for surgery, were not encouraging. On the Internet I first researched the procedure I wanted and for the Lasik I found out you need to know if you qualify first. This I could do, as having something done about your eyes was okay. I found out I qualified for the Lasik eye treatment that day so I went back to the Internet. After some research I found 4 possible, 2 in Thailand and 2 in Malaysia so I decided to get a quote from all 4 companies/hospitals. The cheapest was one in Thailand but the did not offer Lasik so I would have to find my own way for this wile in Thailand and I didn’t want to do this. One I started to think about it I did want to have my surgery in a place I could combine with a holiday as I might as well make the most out of a 12 hour flight. One option in Malaysia was too expensive and in KL, which meant one more trip before I was at a beach. Beautiful Holidays was in Penang on the beach and the price was certainly interesting. What surprised me is that in the proposal they reminded me that not everybody qualified for Lasik and that it would be wise for me to get it checked at home before coming out to Penang, none of the others mentioned this. All the arrangement were made and I would fly to Penang in 6 weeks time. On arrival in Penang Wim was there to pick me up. I must say that it was rather comforting having a man there. Wim gave me an information pack that included a schedule for the next few days that also explained what I could and couldn’t do. Next day was the big day. Didn’t expect it but I was rather nervous all the way up to the consultation. The Doc was great; he calmed my nerves and explained the procedure to me in detail and after seeing before and after pics I was even more at rest. I didn’t see any before or after pics on the website so did not know what to expect very well. They told me their feeling was that these pics are misleading, as you will never look like the person on the picture, as everybody was different. That was okay for me and I went into the waiting area after the consultation. Wim stayed to chat to me and the nurse gave me some pills to calm me. After 20 minutes I started to be a bit drowsy and the nurse took me next door to the operation room. After that I do not remember much. I saw some green, orange and yellow lights but that’s as much as I can remember. Next thing was that I was in my room in the hospital. The hospital stay was comfortable although I was in a bit of pain. This was quickly relieved with some painkillers. The next day was much more comfortable, as I was back in my hotel room. For the first day and nights I just relaxed and slept a lot. They had a fantastic room service menu so I didn’t have to go out. After staying in my hotel room for 2 days I figured it was time to get out and about. The hotel is in the tourist area of Penang so there is a lot to do but I just went for a walk in the garden and on the beach. At night I sat at the quiet beach bar a lot and went to some great restaurants. Basically I turned the whole holiday into a lazy one and only saw one temple, but its what I felt like. In my second week I went for my Lasik treatment. It was comforting to see that the staff of this clinic also seemed to know Wim well. After 10 minutes in the waiting room I was called in for my consultation. The Doctor went through the test results with me. I had sent these to Beautiful Holidays before arrival so the Doctor knew my case. After the procedure Wim took me back to the hotel and made sure I was well installed. I had sort of frog like plastic bulbs on my eyes so my vision was not great. They had given me a sleeping pill, which I took after 2 hours. The next morning it was time for my check up. That day I left the clinic without my glasses and it felt great. My eyes stayed sensitive for a few days but I could see perfectly without my glasses! During one of my check ups I asked Wim if Dental care was much cheaper here, he told me the prices of some basic treatments and I couldn’t believe it. It’s at least 1/3 of the price here if not ¼ as compared to Europe. At home I am not insured for dental so I decided to have a clean and a check up, the dentist was skilled and his practice looked good, he had good looking equipment and it could have been any dentist in Europe. Once back home it was great, everybody said that my holiday must have done me well as I looked so good. My eyes are no longer sensitive and my chest is flat, I feel great. Lots of my friends and people from my social circle do not know I had surgery, which I prefer. Of course they knew about the Lasik as I was now without my glasses. Here in Europe you see lots of horror stories about surgery abroad, but they definitely do not come from Beautiful Holidays! One of my friends asked me “ how could you have gone abroad for something as sensitive as your eyes?” From Beautiful Holidays I knew the machine used is imported from Bausch & Lomb and that they perform over 30 Lasik procedures each month. I cant say more then that I was impressed with Beautiful Holidays and their service. Drop me a line if you have any questions for me.
In January this year I had a lower face-lift, eye bag removal and fat injections in my upper lip. I stayed in Penang for 2 weeks and stayed in the Paradise Sandy Bay for the first week and E&O for the second. My surgery as under LA and I was in hospital for 2 nights. 2003 has been a tough year for me and I decided to make 2004 my year. I am 51 and my face has been bothering me for a long time. Till surgery I felt I was too young for a facelift and dreaded the word. One of my friends went to Penang trough Beautiful Holidays and the results were great. These initiated the idea of getting a quote from them and see how much such procedures would set me back. When I got the quote they asked me for a picture, as they said that it would be useful to see if the surgeon agreed to the procedure I had selected. With nothing to lose I got my daughter to email a picture to them. The next day I got a quote and Marloes explained to me the surgeon thought I would not need a full face-lift; as my forehead was rather wrinkle free. After going trough the quote and emailing back and forth with Marloes, I made the decision to go ahead with surgery. I emailed some questions to them asking what currency to bring for everyday expenses and things like that and they always responded swiftly with clear answers. In the quote it said the room was for 2 so I asked one of my friends to come along with me. As she only had to pay for the flight she jumped at the chance. Once on my way to Malaysia I got a bit nervous, but on arrival I saw Marloes and I felt better. On the way to the hotel I asked lots of questions and Marloes answered them all. I got some information on how to prepare for surgery the next day. Marloes would pick me up and take me for the consultation followed by surgery if I was happy with the consult. It lasted about an hour and the Doctor told me what I could expect from the result and how the procedure took place. My friend stayed with me during consultation, which was comforting. After the consult it all went rather quick. There were some forms for me to sign and I got some pills. Marloes left once I was taken into the room and she promised to see me after surgery. I can say that I don’t remember much of what happened after that, next thing I was in a hospital room while a nurse took my blood pressure. At night Marloes came and she brought along my friend. Once I was released from the hospital Tony took me back to the hotel. I had seen in magazines like Hello of stars wearing big hats when leaving the clinic, so I had brought my own big hat. Though I think the hat got more attention then my face. Tony joked to drop me off at the horse races, as my hat looked more in place there. My hotel room had a balcony so for the first few days I sat in the shadow on my balcony reading my book. In the morning I had walk on the beach and in the evening we would go to Torch for dinner. The Doctor told me after my first check up that all looked good and that the results were good. I still could not see past the bruising, which got a bit depressing, so I had to take his word for it. After some days I really felt like going out and seeing things. We were transferred to the E&O and I instantly felt like wearing my hat again, what a gorgeous hotel, and so glamorous! The last week we just relaxed and indulged in the luxurious hotel. After my last check up I was more comfortable with the outcome of surgery as most of the bruises and swelling had faded. My holiday was amazing, the results are fantastic and I have not looked or felt better for a long time. The only downside would be the long travel but its worth everything in the end, I wish I had done it 3 years earlier! |
